Create a One of a Kind Wedding Dance

wedding dance lessons for brides and grooms in ArizonaIt’s your special day and a wedding dance to remember is at the top of your list. Do you want to leave a lasting impression on your friends and family with a first dance that will Rock Your Reception? If so, there are so many ways to bring your vision to life!

Where to begin? Here are some tips…

First, seek professional help by signing up for Wedding Dance Lessons. No one is born knowing how to dance, so with an instructor by your side, you can free yourself from the guessing work on how to put together a choreographed routine for your wedding. Phew! Professional dance instruction can be a bit of an investment, but it will be worth every penny since you will walk away knowing how to dance beyond the wedding. Plus, you will look great on the most important day of your life in front of everyone you love. No more 7th grade prom sway! With Wedding Dance Lessons from a qualified instructor, you will definitely be making memories of your reception that everyone can treasure.

Speaking of which, personalizing your wedding dance by choosing meaningful songs is key. Not every first dance needs to be sappy and slow. Put your stamp on your routine with upbeat Country music, for example. Whatever genre of music you enjoy, ask your instructor to incorporate that into your wedding dance. It will make your routine unique to you, and that much more special.

Next, see what it would look like to blend several dance styles together. This is a really fun surprise for your guests, and you get a chance to learn more than one type of dance for future occasions! An example would be to start out with a slow dance, shock your friends and family by busting out into a salsa, swing or Country two step dance, then wrap everything up by going back to your original slow dance. From Country to Latin to Swing dancing, your options are virtually endless when it comes to being creative. That last thing you want is to look like someone else you saw on YouTube, so make sure that you like where your choreographer is going with your vision so that you can really perform your dance.

On that note, make time to put your personalities into the dance. If you start with Wedding Dance Lessons with plenty of time to spare, you can get comfortable enough to add your own style into your dance. What a cool thing! Surely you don’t want to appear stiff and robotic, so start 4-6 months beforehand to really shine.

On the flip side, if you’re super shy, how fun would it be to reveal your inner diva?! You know she’s in there! No one would expect it, and you will definitely give everyone something to remember.

If you’re engaged…first, Congrats! Now go and contact your local dance studio for adults for lessons! It will be an awesome experience for you as a couple, giving you quality time together to relax and unwind as you learn to dance. And who knows, once you gain confidence, your wedding dance could very well be the highlight of your entire day! WooHoo!

Top 3 Tips for a Perfect Wedding Dance!

the perfect wedding danceIt’s an exciting time! Lots to prepare for, from flowers to cake to a venue that you adore. Let’s not forget your wedding dance. Now that may take some time to get down pat, so here are a few tips from me to you on how to have the dance of your dreams.

First, now that you’re engaged, start taking Wedding Dance Lessons at an adult dance studio near you as soon as possible. Many people put off their lessons thinking that everything else is a priority, but your first dance is the one thing that you will actually need to learn to do, so don’t sit on this one.

Even with a long engagement, time is not on your side when it comes to discovering how to dance for the biggest day of your lives. Consider the fact that you have to not only learn the steps, memorize choreography and see how to move gracefully with your bride or groom, but you have to ultimately perform your dance in front of everyone you love. Now that’s pressure! Relieve yourself of that weight by getting a head start on your dance lessons. Then, you’ll be gliding around that dance floor with ease and fluidity by the day of your wedding for sure!

Time flies when you’ve got so much to do. With your Wedding Dance Lessons, planning is a requirement to shine on the dance floor. The next thing to consider once you have set up a Wedding Dance Consultation is your vision for your wedding dance routine. Are you wanting a sweet and simple first dance? Were you thinking of how cool it would be to rock your reception with a sultry tango or playful swing dance!!? The choice is yours. When you meet with your wedding dance choreographer, be sure to share your ideas so he/she can bring them to life. A good instructor will let you know what is realistic and what may seem like a good idea, but ultimately won’t work.

Lastly, I suggest that you fast forward 50 years from the day of your wedding. Will you be happy with the routine that you think sounds awesome today? Does sliding across the floor playing the air guitar just seem like a good idea now? Does that even matter to you? A timeless first dance with a wedding song that everyone knows and loves will be a different keepsake than a trendy Country dance that is popular today. Neither is wrong, but you may want to think ahead as this will hopefully be the only first dance you will ever perform.

Have a blast learning to dance for your big day! Wedding Dance Lessons are an incredible stress reliever! When you just need an hour to connect with your sweetie after everything else seems to be going wrong, your dance lessons will be your savior. Enjoy the journey and best of luck on your perfect wedding dance!

Wedding Dance Tips

wedding dance lessons near Gilbert, ArizonaArizona brides and grooms…Congrats! You’re engaged! Now it’s time for the wedding planning to begin. One aspect of the planning process that sometimes gets left for last is learning your first dance. While it may not seem to be a key aspect of your wedding, it can be the highlight of your big day for your friends and family.

Most couples who visit our East Valley dance studio have never danced together before their first lesson with us. Learning to partner dance takes time, so it does make tons of sense to get started with Wedding Dance Lessons sooner rather than later.

Now that you know why Wedding Dance Lessons need to be bumped to the top of your list, there are a few tips that we have for you as a couple…

1. Pick out a wedding dance song that speaks to you. Whether it’s traditional or not, with professional dance lessons under your belt, you’ll know the appropriate dance that fits with your music, as well as how to stay on time with the beat (two very important things). If you’re thinking of something out-of-the-box, like a Country Western Two Step dance, or a Salsa dance, we can put together a playful and unexpected first dance that reflects who you are as a couple. It’s wonderful when your guests are talking about your dance long after you’ve been married!

2. Take time to practice your first dance. Go to your dance lessons often, once or twice a week if possible, and ask if you can take notes and even video so that you can rehearse your wedding dance routine as “homework”. Your instructor should be open to this as long as you are ready to practice without supervision. Lots of dancing the “wrong” way will not ultimately help, of course, so ask when you can begin studying without your instructor’s supervision.

3. Set up a consultation before your lessons begin. A Wedding Dance Consultation can really help to get your vision straight, not to mention save you time and money when it comes to the investment you will be making in your dance lessons. Your instructor will need to know many factors, including the dimensions of your dance floor, what you’ll be wearing, and the look you’re going for. Be as open and prepared as possible, but don’t hesitate to ask for guidance as we are the pros.

If you live in the Phoenix East Valley, come try out a Wedding Dance Consultation at our studio. We are minutes from Chandler, Gilbert and Tempe, AZ, and just off the 101 highway for your convenience. Congratulations again, and we hope we can help you to look incredible on the dance floor on your wedding day!
