Argentine Tango Classes in Phoenix AZ This Weekend

Are you looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience? Join us as Dance FX Studios in Mesa, Arizona invites 2nd place Argentine tango dance champions, Rene Torres and Junko Mori to the Phoenix valley! For a two-day event that you won’t soon forget, come learn to dance tango with two of the world’s best.

This weekend, Saturday, September 29th and Sunday, September 30th, Rene and Junko will be teaching afternoon workshops followed by private tango lessons (by appointment only). Their classes include “Secrets to Advanced Steps” and “The Evolution of Classic Steps to Advanced Movements” and will be packed with amazing information that you can apply to your tango immediately. Classes will be held from 1 pm to 4 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. For just $80 total per person, you can join all 4 weekend classes. Otherwise, each class is just $25 per person.

On Saturday evening, stop by to enjoy a special performance by Rene and Junko around 11 pm (yes, we said “pm”) at the Milonga (Argentine tango dance party) which will also be held at Dance FX Studios. As they do in Argentina, the Milonga will begin late and go into the morning hours (9 pm to 1 am). Tango music brought by Rene and Junko will be played at the Milonga for an authentic experience of what it feels like to dance in Buenos Aires. The fee for the Milonga is just $10 and will include light refreshments.

If you would like to pick up a few basic steps prior to the Milonga, join a mini group tango class at 8-8:45 pm for just $7 per person. This class is $5 for participants in the weekend workshop. The dance, also called “Milonga” is a style of tango that requires fast “marching-like” steps.

For a more personal touch, book a private tango lesson with Rene and Junko after the workshop on either Saturday or Sunday. For $120 for both instructors, you will receive personalized instruction at your level of dance. With an impressive resume, you will surely receive top-notch instruction from Rene and Junko.
