Say you’re not as fortunate as others and you have a father who has two left feet. You love him with all your heart, but you also don’t want either of you to be embarrassed at your wedding. Plot twist, you and your dad start getting down to the music that was supposedly a mistake and the audience goes wild! It will sure be a wedding reception they will never forget. Great Aunt Sally definitely won’t be snoring by the end of this one!

Wedding Dance Lessons to Make You Shine

wedding dance lessons in ArizonaWe passed through the winter holidays and cupids big day of love – Valentine’s Day and you found yourself engaged! Congratulations!  As the wedding approaches and you go through your check list fulfilling each big detail: your bridal party, booking venues, finding the perfect wedding dress and tux, flowers, music, food, cake and more, the thoughts about details like the wedding ceremony and reception activities come into play.

Often completely forgotten is the first dance, a romantic moment the newly married couple shares with all their friends and family. I remember when I got married. The wedding planner simply said “Okay, then you will do the Father-Daughter, Mother-Son and your first dance, after that bridal party joins in …” etcetera. The most my fiancée and I did to prepare for our wedding dance was pick “our song” and, like billions of other newly married couples across the world, we wowed our guests attention for maybe ten seconds while we performed something appropriately termed the “prom sway”.  Looking back and comparing it to the Rock Your Reception videos that we have displayed on the Dance FX Studios’ website, it was typical, boring and nothing that anyone seems to remember.

When I watch the choreographed performances of the brides and grooms in the Rock Your Reception video, the thing that captured my attention, aside from the awesome dancing of the brides and grooms, was their family and friends who are circled around them. All eyes are locked on the couple, thrilled with the unbelievable dance they are viewing, they enthusiastically clap, cheer and route them on!

Now ask yourself: why do the “prom sway” when you can kick off the night with an unexpected wedding dance? Touch your guests with a highly romantic, traditional dance that busts out into a tantalizing Tango, some spicy Salsa, cool moves Country Two-Step or sizzling Swing!
