Get Carefree with Swing Dancing!
One simple and very fun style of dancing is Swing dancing. The lively music and playful attitude of Swing dancing gives people a fun and carefree feeling. With the quick and exciting movements, you are bound to have a ball when you dance any type of Swing dancing.
There are over 20 versions of Swing dancing, but one of the most common from the late 1950’s is the Jitterbug. The Jitterbug was one of the most popular fast moving dances from American Bandstand, a popular music-performance show from that era. Usually danced to Big Band music, a characteristic of the Jitterbug Swing dance is that it has a little more bounce to it than say a Country Swing dance would. Country Swing dancing differs as it has more dips, lifts, and spins to it. Another difference is the kind of music that is played with Country Swing dancing. As you may have guessed, Country Swing dancing is done to country music.
The Jitterbug and Country Swing both offer slight variations that can leave you feeling youthful and give you an overall sense of happiness. It may even transport you from the stress of the daily grind to a simpler time. Whether you want to dance to learn something new, become more confident, or build relationships, Swing dancing is fun and exciting way to do so.
