“First Dance” Lesson FAQ’s

Preparing for your first dance as a married couple on your wedding day can sometimes feel intimidating. Rest assured that you’re in great hands with us at Dance FX Studios. We have choreographed hundreds of first dances for brides and grooms in the past 10 years and we’d love to help you too!

Read below to see if we can answer some of your frequently asked questions prior to coming in for your “first dance” lessons at Dance FX Studios.

1. How far before our wedding should we start taking our wedding dance lessons?

We recommend starting your lessons about 4-6 months prior to your wedding. This way you can look and feel comfortable and natural on the dance floor in front of your family and friends. Of course, the more elaborate you would like your routine to look, the more time you will need.

2. When do you offer wedding dance consultations?

Private dance lessons are available by appointment Monday thru Friday from 12-8 pm and on Saturdays from 12-5 pm. To schedule your first appointment, call us today at 480.968.6177.

3. What can we expect on the wedding dance consultation?

Your “first dance” wedding consultation will consist of both information gathering and dancing. We will get to know you and your vision for your first dance as well as assess your rate of learning on the dance floor.

Don’t dance? No worries! We’re here to train you in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. At the end of the consultation, your wedding dance consultant will recommend the appropriate amount of hour-long dance lessons needed to get you prepared for your wedding dance.

4. Do we need to bring anything to the consultation?

Please bring any song selections that you have made to the consultation in form of a CD or on an ipod. We will assist you in choosing a song if you are unsure as to what you want.

A photo of your dress, the dimensions and a layout of your dance floor, and the type of shoes that you will be wearing will also be helpful to bring on your wedding dance consultation.

5. What do we wear on our wedding dance consultation?

Come in comfortable clothing and shoes. Flip flops are not recommended.

6. What do your wedding packages include?

All of our wedding dance packages include our “satisfaction guaranteed” policy. Your vision for your routine will be discussed in the consultation and planned out for you accordingly. We guarantee that you will receive quality wedding dance lessons to help you shine on the dance floor on your wedding day.

All wedding packages include music editing. We will cut your music to your liking as part of any of our personalized programs.
