Social Dancing Events This Summer in Phoenix, Arizona
Summer is winding down in Arizona, but that doesn’t mean it’s getting any cooler. We’re coming up on monsoon and dust storm season, so it’s time to find some fun indoor activities. Here at Dance FX Studios in Mesa, Arizona we’ve put together a few events to finish off the Summer! Join us for these dance events at the studio and keep active and cool.
Line Dance Classes (July 25-August 29)
Our Line Dance Classes were such a hit, we’re bringing them back! We just finished a 6-week course learning everything from Boot-Scootin’ Boogie to Wobble Baby. If you missed out on the fun, or if you just want to brush up on your favorite line dances, come on down to the studio and dance with us! Every Friday at 6, you can drop on in for only $7. The best part of these classes is that they are a sneak attack work out. You’d be amazed at how much you sweat while learning Copperhead Road!
Kizomba Social (July 26)
This July, we’re spicing our studio up with our first ever Kizomba Social!! Kizomba, sometimes called “African Tango,” is a beautiful dance that has recently made it’s way to the US. It’s a very young dance, but has become increasingly popular in Latin clubs throughout the valley over the last few years. In an effort to help a new dance grow, we are hosting a night of Kizomba, Bachata, Salsa, and more. There will be a $10 class (social included!) with the incredible Vicky Vazquez at 8. Or if you just want to join us to dance, you can stop by closer to 9 and get in for only $5. The party will last til midnight, so pop in whenever and get your hips moving!
Swing Dance Party (August 9)
If you were at our last Swing or Country dance party, you know we had a blast. With live music by Come Back Buddy and a fun dance lesson included, there’s no reason to NOT come play with us! Grab your favorite dance partner or come stag for a night of music, food, and dance. Admission is $15 ahead of time or $20 at the door. Dancing starts at 8 and goes til 11, so come jump, jive, and wail with us!
Drop-in Group Classes (All Summer!)
If you don’t already know how to dance, our group dance classes are the perfect solution. You can drop in to any of them for only $10 per class and pick up some new moves. With Jitterbug, Salsa, Country Swing, and Two Step to choose from, you can really learn how to cut a rug. Singles and couples are welcome, so don’t hesitate if you don’t have a partner on hand. Classes are Monday through Thursday at 7 and run all Summer!
If group classes don’t seem right for you because you need more of a personal touch, feel free to check out our private dance lessons. We cover everything from Tango to Two Step, so we can help prepare you for any of your Summer dance plans. We’re located in Mesa, just off the 101 and the 60, with easy access from Tempe, Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Chandler.
